The boutique hotel’s comprehensive $10 million transformation, led by Sydney-based MAC Design Studio, reimagines the 1910 estate whilst preserving its aristocratic heritage and appeal as a refined cool-climate retreat.
The property unveils 44 redesigned guest rooms, dressed in rich sage green, blush pink and cobalt blue tones, accented with brushed brass, timber, marble and plush wool carpets. Each room features a bespoke mural inspired by the estate’s iconic weeping beech tree, complemented by restored vintage furnishings and thoughtfully curated minibars.
Arrival has been reinvigorated, with a relocated reception and refreshed guest spaces including new lounges, a revitalised bar, billiards room, expanded terraces and intimate private dining areas. The relaunch also introduces Horderns, a new signature dining destination, with The Polo Bar’s dedicated charcuterie room and the Èliva Bowral wellness spa set to open in the coming months.
Founded in 2024, Ardour Hotels & Estates is building a portfolio of immersive regional retreats that blend heritage character with contemporary luxury. Ardour Guesthouse Hunter Valley and Ardour Kingsford Barossa are scheduled to debut in mid-2026, while Blue Mountains landmark Lilianfels is currently undergoing refurbishment ahead of its transformation into an Ardour property.
For Australian executives and luxury travellers, the Southern Highlands’ proximity makes it an ideal destination accessible via private jet charter or charter flight services from major Australian cities.
