Embraer Achieves Record Jet Deliveries in Early 2024, Expanding Global Footprint

16 May, 2024 | News

On Friday, April 19, Embraer disclosed significant developments in its order backlog and recent aircraft deliveries achieved in the first quarter of 2024, encompassing its executive aviation, commercial aviation, and defence and special missions sectors.

The company achieved a substantial milestone by delivering a total of 25 jets during this period, marking a 67% increase from the 15 aircraft delivered in the same quarter the previous year. This surge in deliveries represents the highest first-quarter output Embraer has seen in eight years.

The surge in production was particularly pronounced in Embraer’s executive aviation sector, where 18 business jets were delivered, up from just eight in the first quarter of 2023. This includes 83% more light business jets, with notable deliveries comprising one Phenom 100 and ten Phenom 300s. Additionally, the delivery of medium-sized business jets also saw a significant increase, with three Praetor 500s and four Praetor 600s making it to customers.

This increased delivery rate contributed to a robust growth in the private aircraft backlog, now valued at over $4.6 billion, up $300 million since the last quarter of the previous year.

On the commercial front, deliveries remained consistent with the previous year, featuring four E195-E2s and three E175s. However, the commercial segment saw a notable expansion in its backlog, now standing at $11.1 billion—a 26% increase attributed largely to a new order from American Airlines for 90 E175s, with additional purchase rights for 43 more aircraft.

Despite these successes, Embraer’s Defense & Security segment experienced a slight decline, with a 4% reduction in its backlog, decreasing to $2.4 billion. No defence aircraft were delivered in the first quarter of 2024. However, the completion of the maiden flight of the C-390, delivered to the Hungarian Air Force, marked a significant advancement toward its service entry.

Embraer’s Services & Support business unit, dedicated to enhancing customer service and experience, maintained its performance level from the previous quarter.
