Club Avandra positions itself as an upmarket solution for women seeking sophisticated solo travel experiences without the mass-market tour group format. The service combines curated international itineraries with digital content, networking opportunities and travel planning resources.

Australian operations will mirror the London model, offering members – termed ‘Wander Women’ – access to guided international experiences led by notable figures from media and publishing backgrounds. Former magazine editors Marianne Jones and Jo Elvin feature among the experience hosts, alongside author Kathy Lette.

Scheduled departures include Spanish pilgrimage routes, Moroccan destinations and Scandinavian wellness programmes. The club targets what it identifies as an underserved demographic: financially independent women prioritising quality and security over budget travel options.

Membership includes access to proprietary travel content developed by Jones, formerly of Red, Good Housekeeping and Prima publications. The service also incorporates charitable partnerships, with member-directed donations supporting women’s empowerment organisations including Women in Travel CIC and Inspiring Girls International.

Co-founders Emily-Jane Clark and India Clark-Williams cite research indicating solo female travel represents significant tourism growth, yet faces persistent barriers around safety perception and premium product availability.

The Australian launch reflects broader industry trends towards specialised travel services catering to specific demographics. Similar concepts have emerged targeting various traveller profiles, though few focus exclusively on female solo travellers in the luxury segment.

For Australian residents joining international Club Avandra departures, private jet hire offers efficient connections to European and Asian gateway cities, whilst charter flight services provide flexible scheduling for group departure coordination.
