Polish enterprise Flaris has recently commenced the sales of its LAR01 model, a single-engine light jet, following a series of successful tests.

Equipped with a dorsal-mounted Williams FJ33 turbine that generates 1843 lbf of thrust, the LAR01 can achieve a maximum speed of 415 KTAS and accommodates five passengers.

Initial purchases have reportedly been made by the United Arab Emirates, where the aircraft are slated for roles in law enforcement and border surveillance.

Flaris has confirmed the delivery of the initial units to the UAE. In partnership with the EDGE Group, Flaris is focusing on enhancing the aircraft with advanced artificial intelligence systems and satellite communications. These enhancements will facilitate autonomous patrol missions and equip the aircraft for safe formation flying in cutting-edge cargo transport scenarios.

Continued testing is essential for achieving certification within Europe. However, the focus is currently on the patrol and cargo configurations, with less priority given to the passenger variants.

Additionally, Flaris has modified this aircraft model to serve as a drone for military purposes.

The aviation community was taken aback in 2013 when Flaris unveiled this innovative design at the Paris Airshow, having kept it under wraps from most industry insiders until the event.
