Marriott Reports Major Asia-Pacific Luxury Portfolio Growth in 2025

27 Feb, 2026 | News

Marriott International has unveiled an ambitious expansion drive across Asia-Pacific (excluding China), accelerating growth in its premium and luxury hotel portfolio throughout 2025.

The hospitality giant signed 187 new property agreements during the year, representing more than 28,000 rooms and a 32% increase year-on-year. Its regional pipeline now exceeds 400 hotels, totalling 86,000 rooms, signalling sustained momentum across high-growth markets.

Luxury and premium brands accounted for nearly one-fifth of new room commitments, reflecting rising demand for wellness-led, highly personalised travel experiences. Flagship brands including JW Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton and The Luxury Collection are spearheading expansion across both dynamic urban hubs and sought-after resort destinations.

Among the standout signings: JW Marriott Hotel Johor Bahru, slated for a 2027 debut in southern Malaysia; Pottuvil, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, bringing ultra-luxury to Sri Lanka’s eastern coastline in 2032; and The Ritz-Carlton, Fiji, Namuka Bay — marking the brand’s debut on Fiji’s Coral Coast.

The group also celebrated its 700th regional opening with Legacy Mekong, Can Tho, Autograph Collection, set on an island in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. Recent additions further underscore its luxury push, including The Laurus in Singapore and The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, spanning two exclusive private islands.

Rather than concentrating solely on established gateway cities, Marriott is increasingly targeting culturally rich, emerging destinations — catering to affluent, experience-driven travellers seeking authenticity alongside elevated comfort.

For Australian executives and investors tracking luxury property developments across the region, private jet charter offers seamless access to remote resort locations, while business charter flights enable efficient connectivity between Asia-Pacific’s fast-expanding hospitality markets.
