The World’s 50 Best Vineyards of 2025 have been unveiled, with this year’s rankings revealed here on Australian soil. The live awards ceremony took place in Margaret River, Western Australia– a fitting location for a nation that knows a thing or two about crafting world-class drops.
Australia’s representation comes through Henschke’s impressive re-entry at No.47. Located in Eden Valley, this iconic family estate continues to produce some of southern Australia’s finest shiraz, with its revered 150-year-old Hill of Grace vines and its beautifully preserved 1860s grain barn welcoming visitors into a rich history of craftsmanship.

Cloudy Bay Vineyards in New Zealand’s Marlborough region claimed the number 26 spot and earned the title of Best Vineyard in Australasia 2025. Their experience is genuinely spectacular-visitors can tour the vineyards by 4WD or helicopter, then sail into the Marlborough Sounds aboard a private yacht whilst sipping their signature sauvignon blanc. This represents the kind of luxury travel experience that aligns perfectly with private charter services.
Australia’s representative, Henschke in Eden Valley, South Australia, secured number 47. The estate produces some of southern Australia’s finest shiraz, thanks to 150-year-old vines at their flagship Hill of Grace vineyard. An 1860s grain barn serves as the centrepiece for tours where visitors can absorb the producer’s century-and-a-half of winemaking history.
Global Recognition
To provide context, South America featured prominently with multiple entries, including Chile’s Vik at number one, Uruguay’s Bodega Garzón at four, and Montes (another Chilean entry) in the top ten. France demonstrated its viticultural heritage with legendary names like Château D’Yquem (9), Maison Ruinart (8), and Château Smith Haut Lafitte (5).
Spain showed strong representation – Bodegas Ysios claimed third place with its avant-garde architecture set against Rioja’s Sierra de Cantabria, whilst California’s wine country proved its calibre with Jordan Vineyard & Winery taking 13th and earning Best Vineyard in North America honours.
Even Nyetimber in West Sussex reached the top 32, demonstrating that English sparkling wine continues to gain recognition on the global stage.
Australia’s Wine Tourism Excellence
